I am having another go at the Jones family, John Jones born about 1862 Church Street Pensnett, father Thomas Jones miner, John married Sarah Jane Jones 1885 St Thomas Dudley, where should I look for birth Stourbridge or Dudley?

you would need to contact the regis office at Dudley and see if they have any that fit
with father Thomas etc.

there are loads on the Bmsgh site that could be him.

Confusing isn't it - I have most of the Jones's in Tipton in my mom's family - took me years to sort them out and that was only because I live near to Sandwell Archives. I planted myself in there on Saturdays and after work in the week, trawling through the Parish Records. I found the buriels really useful, because they always contained an address, and of course the Electoral Rolls, but they only start in 1919 at Sandwell.

If you don't live near to Dudley Archives and you have access to an LDS centre, they will order the films in for you.

My family of Jones don't seem to move out of Church Street Pensnett just move to different houses, have contacted Dudley register office they are going to look to see if they have a match for the date of birth and fathers name, so will keep my fingers crossed.

Probably the same house Nessa, the numbers kept changing as more Cottages were built.
