Jonah Flavell on BCC here :

- was looking around on Ancestry and someone gives his precise birthdate as 27 April 1848, so it is likely they have a certificate. The interesting thing is his place of birth is given as 'County Jail, Worcester'
Can anyone confirm or add to this?

hi we can amend it on bcc to 1848 I will do that

anyone got the info on ancestry re why Rosannah may be in jail? if indeed she was

All others born Netherton

This is weird as I am in process of sorting out Flavells who were all over bcc and not connected .
I also came across the birth in Jail and it is on my list of things to do

Looked through the criminal registers on the big A and found this:
Rosanna Flavell Imprisoned at age 35 for manslaughter, term was 6 months
seems short for manslaughter perhaps because she was pregnant???

date of the trial 6 March 1848 in Worcester

Slight problem with bcc as Tamer Flavell dau of Josiah and Rosannah is shown as James on Census Records and on list of children
It is Tamer or Tamar and Female on Census and I have found she married James Phillips in 1865 in St. Edmunds

That marriage to James Phillips ties up as in 1881 James Phillips and Tamar are living two doors away from Josiah and Rosehannah Flavell
in Bell Road Dudley Staffs.

Continuing Nl's religious education Tamar was a daughter of King David of Israel

I also have Flavells all over the place, which is also how I stumbled across the details of Jonah's birth.

I have come to several conclusions:

1). Everyone in Gornal was named Hickman or Flavell
2). Anyone else in Gornal came from Dudley or Shropshire

Slight exaggeration perhaps but they are very confusing

All added and complete
