Will do, Jan. Unless I've got it wrong, Benjamin Plant b. abt. 1814 son of Richmond 1793-1828 married an Eliza Hussey, perhaps sister of Joseph Hussey?, and Benjamin's son Richmond 1840-1914 moved to Stockton-on-Tees and had 7 children by his wife Mary Orr. More later.

So that is maybe that one on census mally found

but............is it our JOhn Plant and Mary Southall on marriage

As you'll have seen, I spent an hour or three this afternoon adding as many Plants as I could to BCC in this line They were an extraordinarily fecund lot, the Plants, in most cases I've just indicated that there was a marriage and a child and will try to fill in the other children as and when. I think you've nailed this one, Jan, I'll add what I can to BCC.
