Just a question before it goes....

There was Danks farm in Oldbury, on Gipsy Lane (now called Lower City Road) near the intersection with Wolverhampton Road.

It was one of the last farms to be bulldozed to make "Brades Rise".

Are the Danks in this thread related to Farmer Danks?

They were there in the early 1920's but I think it was several generations that ran it.

One of his neighbours was George Harper, a dairyman and I think he married one of the Dank's girls.

All this is in notes I founds from a member of my Genealogical society. He was reminiscing about the local identitites he remembered from the 1920's/1930's before migrating to Australia.

Just archive it......I will pursue it at a later date.

There is a whole heap of Black Country people mentioned in family histories at my Aussie Genealogical Society.

I am chasing a few up, Danks was on my list due to the Oldbury connection.

I love finding out how they did when they came to Oz and how their family went back home.

When I find good evidence I will add the families to BCC.
