RF kindly provided me with another lookup...
25 Dec 1865 St Thomas, Dudley
George Greaves,24,bachelor,nailer, resident Dudley, father James Greaves(dec.) nailer,
Jane Guest,22,spinster, resident Dudley, father Benjamin Guest, labourer.
Both signed.
Witnesses 'mark of' Benjamin Higgs & 'mark of' Elizabeth Higgs
I think I have found Jane in 1861
1861 Lapal, Worcestershire,
Catherine Guest,72,widow,washerwoman,born Warley,
Jane Guest ,17,granddaughter,unmarried,washerwoman, born Lapal.
(Note:- there is a George Greaves on previous page of census.. only 4 doors away)
Now Jane appears to have been living with her grandmother in 1851 too
1851 Wells Green Cottages, Manor lane, Lapal, Worcestershire,
Joseph Guest,64,head,married,nailer,
Catherine,wife,nailer,
James,25,son,unmarried,nailer,
Hannah,22,unmarried,daughter,nailer,
Jane Guest,7,granddaughter.
All born Worleston
same family in 1841
1841 Wells Green, Hales Owen, Shropshire,
Joseph Guest,50,nailer,
Catherine Guest,50,
George Guest,20,
John Guest,20,
Elizabeth Guest,15,
James Guest,15,
Hannah Guest,13,
Samuel Guest,11.
All born in County
Now on the marriage certificate Jane gives her father as Benjamin Guest.... but he isn't listed on the censuses with Joseph and Catherine? .... is he their son? .... where is he ?![]()
Now I need help![]()
Thankyou
