I think this Samuel may be brother of Thomas( the other soldier thread running) , son of John & Florence Bastable

Amongst the records is a letter from his wife in 1917 asking them to let her know the whereabouts of her husband,which hospital he was in?.... they replied that he was in G.H. Salonica ( would that be hospital?)

He also seems to have spent some time in hospital with malaria from 11 June 1919 to 8 July 1919
