Joined up at Worcester , attested 14 Dec 1915, posted 1 June 1916
Occupation bargeman/ boatman/ lighterman, employer before joining up :- WH Mattie, Langley Green
Served in France 1 Nov 1917 to Jan 1918, as deckhand on cross channel barges 1 Nov 1917 to Oct 1918
Discharged from the army 4 Dec 1919 with pronounced deafness in R. ear attributed to service during the war, from May 1917
Aged 20 in 1919

As with a couple of the other Bastable threads ... for Samuel Bastable and John William Bastable ( brothers?) ....the one connection I am unsure of is how the father John Bastable connects in to BCC.


I think he is this one here... born 1869
