I have just added this marriage to BCC here...

Thomas Brinston,23, bachelor, machinist,resident Dudley, father Benjamin Brinston,machinist.
Mary Ann Price,20,spinster, resident Dudley, father Samuel Price,machinist.
Both signed 'mark of'.
Witnesses Ellen Round 'mark of' & Jesse Taylor

I am struggling to find Thomas or his father on any census.... can't even find Thomas & Mary Ann after their marriage

Is the spelling of the surname Brinston the problem?
... I notice that on BCC there are Brinsdons and Brinsfords and Brintons

Any ideas?

I think so but not too sure go with what you think but keep marriage as transcribed.
