I have now found Jean Forsyth death date 17/9/1849 and I think her parents are James Forsyth & Grisel Robertson...m.cert 30/9/1814.....this name Robertson has been the bane of my life as I couldnt find any marriage with this as the maiden name...... This name appears in my granma's m. cert and birth.

The problem I have now is trying to find Jean's birth cert.....any thoughts anyone???

Thanks for that but I have already looked at this marriage as I thought this was the correct path at the start of my research....but then on my grt granmas marriage cert read that her mother was Jean forsyth....what a blow that was.....but my granmas cert states her mother as Jane Robertson Brown (Scobie) ....very confusing

Need to keep looking eh???

Could she have been married before and Robertson her married name?

I have their marriage cert and it states that she is spinster and her age is 20yrs so its unlikely that she was married before....I have to say that I did think that might be the answer but as I did more research realised that this was not so....I would have thought the name Forsyth would be on my gt g'mas cert rather than Robertson....really weird.

We just keep trundling on tho
