Been tracking back Samuel Medlicott born 1897 who is on Rowley Regis Roll of Honour in st. Pauls Blackheath
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... onnections
I have managed to trace most of family back but Samuel's father married a Sarah Ann Haden in 1894 Cradley Heath and there are a number of possibilties for Haden Family
Family is interesting as 1) Samuels father was a William Medlicott and Mother Deborah Fletcher and both came from big farming families in Shropshire with servants but in 1861 the family went downhill fast as :-
Note :- Reason Deborah not with family in 1861 :- 18/3/1861 Shropshire William Medlicott and Deborah Medlicott charged with " Assaulting Servant and neglecting to serve sufficient food". William found not guilty and Deborah found guilty and sentenced to 6 months

Found family in 1861 less Deborah
Can anyone find her inn Jail ?
After Jail Deborah joined up again and family fled to Warwick where William became an Ag. Labourer ( He was Farmer of 120 Acres before) before moving to Rowley Regis where he became a Labourer in Colliery
2) Samuels's parents Samuel and Sarah Ann had 10 children and only 2 were living in 1911 and Samuel died in ww1 leaving just one child
