It would be a good idea to add that marrage to look ups. I think it will help more.
The Fulford family were living in Bristnall fields in 1891 thats where the Dearne family were living earlier too!

No problem NL,
That's why I thought I'd run a thread on this .... I have come across alot of mistakes on people's trees. I won't add to BCC unless I can check it out first :-)

Still trying to work through this one

I thought I would take another look at the marriage certficate for Hannah Dearne ( sister of Eliza), a copy of which I have...

16 Mar 1873...Parish Church Harborne, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, United Kingdom
Edward Evans (full age, bachelor, labourer)living in Harborne, father William Evans(labourer)...
marriage to Hannah Derne (full age, spinster) resident in Harborne, father Ephraim Derne(labourer).
Witnessed by Isaac Derne & Eliza Derne

I notice that there is a witness on there called Eliza Derne. If this is her sister then she can't be the one who married Henry Fulford as she would have married in 1872.
... and what about that Isaac Derne.... that could be her brother?
.. did Isaac marry an Eliza? .. I can't find him in census after 1871.... can't find a marriage for him?

1871..Bristnall Fields, Warley Wigorn, Staffordshire, England
Mary DEARNE(50) wid..nailer..b.Cakemore,
children..all single..Hannah(23) & Eliza(23) both nailers b.Bristnall,
Ephraim(20) glassworker,
Isaac(18) iron caster,
Henry(14) grate maker all born Bristnall,
Sarah(3) b. Langley

So ... could do with finding out a bit more on Isaac.... if he did marry an Eliza then that might be the one on that certficate?

We are dealing with Arctic conditions here at the moment .. it is -30 with windchill ....time to hibernate and do genealogy

I have also been looking to see if there was an Eliza Dunn with a father Ephraim Dunn.

I have found a few Eliza Dunns around the right age and in the right sort of area geographically...but not an Ephraim Dunn

Amongst the ones I have found ...there is an Eliza Dunn with parents Noah and Matilda
an Eliza with parents Frederick and Martha Dunn
and one with parents George and Maria Dunn

... I am sure there are more.

Beginning to think that I should just send off for that marriage certificate .... might be easiest

Hello Expat

I've done a lot of work on the Dearn's of Warley - they're related to my ex. A lot of them married at Christchurch in Quinton, PRs are loged with Birmingham Archives. I have come across a couple with the name Dunn, and Durne, instead of Dearn. So it is possible that the name was misheard and was written as Dunn or Durn by the vicar - do you know which church the marriage took place ?

Maggie,
I don't know for sure which church ... that entry on 'familysearch' just says Harborne, Staffs.

That Alfred Dakin is, I think the one on BCC here...
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/fa ... rne-Family

...son of Sarah Dearne....who was sister of Hannah Dearne ( married to Edward Evans above)

I think on that 1881 census he should be listed as nephew not son... though I know that it says son on the transcript :?
He appears to move around alot staying with different relatives over the years...
I have the following possible censuses for him...
