Jean or Jane Forsyth 1813 ARC TBC

I am trying to find parents of the above but cannot get hold of her birth info. Most of my ancestors were in Scotland and so have been on that website but to no avail other than finding a birth of 1814.....not sure if this is the one. Has anyone got any more ideas as to where I could find her. Thanks

The only other place is the Archives again, searching Parish Registers, which can be time consuming. Try one of these Scottish Lists, people on there will hold some local records and will be more attuned to where you are searching:-

You could try working around the family a bit.
You have that Violet Forsyth in the 1851 census. If you find her in the 1841 she seems to have daughter which could be this one on the IGI
bpt 15 Aug 1826 Edinburgh
Parents George Forsyth and Violet Candlish
Their marriage is on the IGI too so perhaps you can find details of his father and use that to pin down Jean/Jane?

Did you get her daughters marriage record? Scottish records show mothers maiden name, then you could use that to either find her marriage or birth. May be best to use a wildcard search on Scotlands people to help find them

I looked at my gt grandmothers (her daughter Jane) 1867 marriage cert and found the name Robertson Scobie but again have trawled the lists etc and found nothing. I have also found Jean Forsyth marriage to Andrew Scobie 1839 but there are no parent names. I cant find any birth certs that I am sure about....Robertson is not in the name and I am not sure which year is correct. Thanks for your help

I have now found Jean Forsyth death date 17/9/1849 and I think her parents are James Forsyth & Grisel Robertson.....this name robertson has been the bane of my life as I couldnt find any marriage with this as the maiden name.....m.cert 30/9/1814. This name appears in my granma's m. cert and birth.
The problem I have now is trying to find Jean's birth cert.....any thoughts anyone???
