there is an Aaron Leedham b abt 1835 from Worcs living there
in 1881 with wife Margaret (marriage in sunderland in 1868 to a Margaret Tucker)

coincidence that someone born worcs is there in 1881 and Wm Rose is born there in 1879

they must know each other

cant see Aaron Leedham on bcc

who is he?

on 1871 he is b 1843 Lye worcs and living there

There is a couple in Lye, Job Leedham and Mary.
They have millions of children including:

Thomas Leedham b 1834, m Sarah Ann; have son Joseph Leedham b 1889. I think he marries Gertrude Roberts in 1915 Stourbridge dist.; their daughter Elizabeth b 1928 marries Horace Rose.

Aaron Leedham b 1843, m Margaret Tucker 1868 Sunderland district; have daughter Margaret b 1875 Sunderland; she marries William Spencer Dodson.

So I agree that the Leedhams connect the Rose and Dodson families.

As the connection to the Dodsons and Roses is later in 1894 for Wm Dodson and Margaret Leedham.

So how did they know of each other.

Aaron seems to have zapped up to Sunderland, married Margaret and had kid, then gone back to Lye in time for 1871 census.

John Dodson (1831) and his brother George (1847) (brothers to Mary Ann who married Samuel Rose) were in Bishop Wearmouth by the 1871 census so it is possible that The Leedham connection was made then ie about 1868-1870 when Aaron was up there too. Then Aaron moved back to Lye, then back to co Durham and his daughter Margaret was born. Then she marries the son of John Dodson.
