I just finished "A discovery of witches" which I loved, even though witches and vampires are not my usual sort of book. Looking forward to when book 2 comes out.

I am reading "Murder at Pemberly" on my Kindle- it is a murder story by PD James, set about six years after Darcy and Lizzie marry. OK so far though it is a bit odd to read.

And since the kindle is not bath-friendly I am aslo reading "Becoming Jane Eyre" which seems to be about Charlotte's live as well as the period when she actually wrote Jane Eyre. Not warming to it yet but that may be because I have not read enough of it to get into the story.

What about the rest of you? I will be looking for something to read at Christmas so give eme some ideas.

I'm on book 4 of the Agatha Raisin series by M.C. Beaton. Agatha used to run a PR business in London, took early retirement and moved to Carsely in the Cotswolds. She's similar to Hetty Wainthrop who used to be on the t.v. Nice short easy going reading. Best if you read them in order though as some of the characters appear in the following books.

Think it's only available for kindle and it only cost about 86p!

I've got two library books to read by a danish author Jens Henrik Jensen, he's written three crime novels set in the town where I work, it's fun reading about places I know. They're not available in English though!

I like those books also BCWench, I have read two so far.
Also just finished one called 'Whispers' it's Murder, Mystery and spirits.

I have just finished Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantell about the brutal lives and intrigue of the Tudors, now something completely different Twelev Days of Christmas by Trisha Astley very light but enjoyable.

I ama SO impressed! I gave up half-way through, and it isn't often that I do that!

Just finished Silence in Hanover Close by Anne Perry. Took a bit of getting into, but really enjoyed it. I normally get my books on CD, but I did read the reading version of Angels and Demons, while I was on Jury Service a few weeks ago - not so heavy as other Dan Brown Books, thoroughly enjoyable.

I'm reading "The Searchers and me" by Frank Allen.Love it!!

An author I have recently 'found' is Kate Furnivall - obtainable on Amazon. They are mainly based in Russia at the turn of the century and I found them hard to put them down. I read them in old fashioned way - held in my hands with manual page turning - I believe they were called books!!

My friend loaned me a book recently, I wasn't sure whether I would enjoy it but gave it a go --------- and WOW! I'm not really into autobiographies, but if you are interested in life in China under Mao's regime, dance, escape to America and then on to Australia it really is most uplifting and also of course in places very sad too. Anyway the title is Mao's Last Dancer by Li Cunxin.

My Kindling has recently consisted of all the novels by Jo Nesbo - if you like Steig Larsson - you'll like making the aquaintance of detective Harry Hole.

In a lighter vein for those who like a little light reading and love Jane Austen - a trilogy by Victoria Connolly should fit the bill - (1) A Weekend with Mr D'arcy (£1.99), (2) A Perfect Hero (.99p) and (3) Mr D'arcy Forever (£1.99).

NL: How is Wolvie getting on with the PD James? I assume that is the one you meant he was reading? It doesn't seem to be a murder or a period romance, or good red herring or anything else.
