Hi everyone
I have hit the biggest brick wall.
I am tracing my family my Great Great Grandfather Hans Gordon born 1827-1831 (I have been told in Tullylish Co Down Northern Ireland)
I have found records of his marrage in 1850 to Ruth Robinson in All Saints parish CoI Tullylish, Death in Belfast in 1908.
It is as if he was just put on the earth from 1850.
Does any one have any ideas?
Thanks

I take it you haven't actually got the marriage certificate?
Is this site any help to you -
http://ifhf.rootsireland.ie/index.php2 marriages in 1850 Co Down for his name comes up but it costs about £5 to view (I think) and you have to register

So:
1901
Hans Gordon 70 co Down
Ruth ditto 70 ditto
Ruth ditto 30 ditto
Margaret ditto 28 ditto
all Plymouth Brethren
1901
William Lavery 39 Belfast
Nellie ditto 39 ditto
both Church of Ireland
1911
William Lavery 50 Antrim married 22 years
Ellen Maria ditto 51 Armagh
Ruth Gordon 84 ditto
Margaret ditto 45 ditto
all Church of Ireland
That is them is it? With older children in the IGI born 1865-1868 in Armagh
I wonder when Hans became Plymouth Brethren? That might be why he is so hard to find.

hi
found that strange myself from marriage to death is the easy bit.
I just cannot find any records of his birth therefore any. details of his parents to go backwards!
Update
Yes there was two Children Born to Hans and Ruth in Portadown, Co. Armagh.
BUT where did Hans come from Scotland, who knows
There is something I am missing but what?
Thanks
