It's doing me head in!! If he's the grandson of John Bateman and Elizabeth Hall who are his parents? John Dearsen Dearn? NL's eyes aren't as young as they once were are they?
1881 census has him living with them.

where are Joseph Hall and James hall in 1871

Joseph Hall born 1863 later marries Mary Ann Westwood and adopts my grandfather Frank Williams.
James Hall born 1868 i can't find anywhere.Need a marriage i suppose.
John Hall born 1873 i'm waiting for a marriage lookup with Eliza Collins.
Joseph Hall born 1877 later becomes Joseph Bateman on the 1891 census i think.

It clearly states Joseph Dearn and the Warley Wigorn area is full of Dearn's.
One thing that confuses me is why Joseph Hall is referred to as "grandson" to John and Elizabeth Bateman?
Elizabeth's maiden name was Hall but how can Joseph be their grandson?
The other Hall John and James idem ditto.
