Simply an oversight as they have not looked at the later census according to the information on BCC.

Why does the name Prudence Edge remind me of a new form of laxative?

Constipated? Try Prudence Edge with a new improved formula!

"The Queensland immigration index shows Prudence & Samuel along with Samuel's mum Emma Dimmock and his siblings [Emma, Fanny, & Joseph] plus his half siblings [Harry, Samson, William & Thomas Dimmock] arriving on 24 Aug 1886 aboard the Quetta."

What I find surprising is that Emma Dimmock (and husband Joseph and son Joseph) subsequently returned to Rowley Regis to live in the same street (Providence Street) where they had been in 1881, so that they can be found in the 1901 and 1911 censuses.

Other than the fact that the last three of Emma Tibbetts (nee Clee) children were enumerated as Dimmocks in the 1881 census, do we have any evidence that Joseph Dimmock was the father of any of Emma's children? I think we need either a marriage for one of the a.k.a. Dimmocks or a record of their births.
