Hi all,

Can any one help me here please?

I am trying to find and records (particularly military) of my great great grandfather

Charles Henry Howell
he was born 11 january for sure i beleive circa 1890. I know that he served in the first world war and survived.
He lived in Birmingham therefore am assuming he was born there.

Any info gratefully received

Mom has his medals and had tried to search herself on the Free Trial for military records, thats currently being offered on a well known search engine, but was unsure of what she was doing, although I have a sub, unfortunately it is for a different search engine, and doesnt seem to have as many records also I am a lot of a novice when it comes to military searches.

Thanks and regards
Kim

HE died circa 1950 when my mom was 5ish and she cant recall what job he did other than there was always wood glue boiling?? she also remembers he was ill with chest breathing problems and she was told this was caused by him having bee gassed during the war?? She has just told me over the phone now that she doesnt think he was born in Birmingham!
I've just sent her to have another look for a number on medal x
