Just been having a look at this - Quinton Methodism "“ Forty Years and More

I wonder if he connects to this Ambrose...

1841: Quinton, Halesowen, Shropshire
Ambrose Foley 59 Independent
Ann Foley 60

although not transcribed as such, it looks like these are also living with them..

John Foley 34 Farmer
Jane Foley 28

(none born in county)

Thanks for posting that San, most interesting. We forget how the Non Conformists were vilified for their beliefs, their steadfastness in the face of adversity was just awe inspiring. I found a Wm Foley living Ridgeacre on the 1759 and 1766 Manor Suit Roll.

1851 Quinton
Ambrose Foley HD M 69 Farmer no Labourer Tamworth Warks
Ann Wife M 73 Farmer's Wife Kings Norton Worcs.

There's a death on Free BMD for Ambrose Dec Qtr 1854.

Could be San, Wm Foley Married Esther Parish 29.9.1768 Halesowen, maybe son Ambrose was born at Grannies home in Tamworth :?: The Manor Suit Rolls trace the family back to the 1750's. Another puzzle :o
