I have this 3x Great Grandad

http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/family-tree/bcconnections/124860/59338/Samuel-Hadley-Family

The Hadleys in my tree are notorious for changing their County, Parish and year of birth throughout the Census so it is hard to pin them down.

Many trees have these two as brothers.

If we take the information for Samuel first.....

Others claim this is his marriage to the Mary Unknown on BCC

Hi Mark. I'm taking the liberty of editing out some lines - my brain does not hold information so well these days, easier if I can see it with less scrolling and filtering

The question is, are there any other possibilities?

Henry doesn't seem to have much to fix him in time or space. Aged 40 in the 1841 census I presume, living West Brom and born in county.

With the age rounding in 1841 that would also fit for age?
I find it curious that neither Henry nor Samuel named a son George.
George and Mary seem to have children Henry/Samuel/Oliver/Charles/Mary Ann which don't seem to be similar to either Samuel and Mary's or Henry and Hannah's children

Other than the baptism above, there is also
Henry Hadley bpt 24 Sep 1797 HALESOWEN,"‹WORCESTER,"‹ENGLAND parents Ezekial and Elizabeth.

Ezekial and Elizabeth also had a son William in 1782 and daughter Phoebe in 1783. Henry has children named William and Phoebe.

There is an Ezekial Hadley in the 1851 census, born 1820, Smethwick. He seems to be the son of William Hadley and Elizabeth, and is in the new Familysearch list as born Smethwick and baptised at along with John and Samuel (?older brothers not born at Smethwick).

Is it possible that your Henry is the son of Ezekial and Elizabeth, and he and his brother William were both living in the Smethwick area?

I was having a look at Ezekial as the weird biblical names are common through the family.

I just wish they would occasionally use a middle name....

Is this still a Brickwall, or have you solved it?

Unless otherwise advised this will be moved to the Brickwalls Archived section

What is a "teezer". It is Henry Hadley's occupation listed on Ann's marriage to Andrew Waterhouse.

I will leave this for now Mark.

Could a teezer be something to do with hair - horses? Or to do with the cotton industry?

Have you read the private message I sent to you re Danks Farm?
