I found a copy of a memorial card as follows: In Dearest Loving Memory of ROSE, The Beloved Wife of John Thomas ADAMS, of Reddall Hill, who dioed "in the Lord" May 23, 1891, aged 29 years. It also gives "The last text she preached from". On googling, I came up with an archived posting re Charlotte [not sure who] which gives 1891 census for John Thomas Adams and Rose Adams, at different addresses, and with Evangelist and Mission Preacher for John Thomas, this looks like it could be them, especially as Rose's date of death is mentioned. Just wondering if anyone has them in their tree as I don't know how they connect with mine, if at all! I do have a Matilda Adams, born 4 October 1840, daughter of Joseph Adams and Sarah Parkes. Matilda married my Richard Neale in 1861. Wondering if John Thomas Adams is connected to Matilda or whether our family has the memoriam card due only to a church/chapel connection.

Yes, thank you very much. That looks like part of the thread I found by googling. I don't have John Thomas Adams' father, Thomas Adams as a sibling to my Matilda though. Really just trying to find out if John Thomas is an Adams relative or whether it's purely a religious connection. Lots of Methodists in the family back then, although I see his second marriage was at a Congregational Church. Looks like some Adams research is on the cards! All because I came across the photocopy of Rose's memorial card when I was looking for something completely different! Thanks again. And also for the burial info.
