Evening all :-)

I'm really struggling with my Burgess line, I cannot find Joseph on the 1891 census, fresh pair of eyes needed,(mine are starting to cross ) if anyone would like to try and find him please.

I have the other census returns for him except 1891.

Joseph Burgess was born in Longton Staffordshire in 1840. He worked as a potters saggar maker.

in 1881:-
Joseph Burgess 41
Mary A. Burgess 37
Mary J. Burgess 17
Priscilla Burgess 13
Mary A. Burgess 10
Eliza Burgess 9
Joseph Burgess 4
Sarah Burgess 1
The address is given as Kildare street, Blurton.

In 1891 his family :-
8, Spring rd, Longton Staffs
Mary A Burgess 47
Eliza Burgess 18
Joseph Burgess 17
Sarah Burgess 11
Samuel Burgess 9
Frank Burgess 4

- no sign of Joseph but in 1901, Joseph is in the local workhouse, and his death is listed as that year too. His wife Mary A has moved to another Longton address with her two sons, Samuel and Frank.

Any help much appreciated
Thank you.

Looks like this needs to be either archived or moved to Brick Walls...... any preference?

Is this still a Brickwall, or have you solved it?

Unless otherwise advised this will be moved to the Brickwalls Archived section
