Sounds delicous Marky but can i use horse meat instead? The only kangeroos we have over here are wallabies in the village "dieren tuin".

Horse meat is good but my daughter would carve me up if I ever served it at home.....

Either do I but their recipe for Kangaroo and Wallaby is to chuck them on some hot coals......whole....

I tried Kangaroo on holiday. After I freed my mind of cute skippys jumping about I tried it.
It was lovely, so tender and tasty. My husband loved it and my daughter and her friend did too!

There are plenty of low fat meats available over here; venison, water buffalo, bison, ostrich to name but a few. Trouble is they're all pricy and, if made into sausages, nearly all have added fat to stop them being dry.

I know some cultures will eat anything,sorry Marky, but surely there are animals we should not eat.

We eat Emus as well, which makes us the only country to eat the animals on thier National Coat Of Arms.

Why not eat Kanagaroo? Good meat, plenty of them and we have to cull them anyway.

It used to be they just went into dog food. What a waste!

I also like crocodile and snake.

One still sees ostrich steaks in pubs and restaurants occasionally, along with other esoterica like alligator.

There was a great 'Get Rich Quick' scam over here a few years back getting people into ostrich farming as the next big, low fat meat, thing and driving around the countryside one would suddenly see a field full of the things. It had been set up by a couple of 'farmers' who bred the chicks and made a vast profit selling the young ostriches to suckers as there wasn't a market, processing costs were high and most of the purchasers didn't have a clue how to rear them. Nowadays it's llamas and alpacas, for the wool not the meat, although I would imagine one could eat them; it would be a bit like mutton I suppose. Most country shows have a llama/aplaca display of some sort. They're very cute. An idea of the kind of people who have them is given in the Archers where Linda Snell owns a couple.

Ostrich leather is good but the rest was useless.

i like the tatse of Ostrich the more gamer taste the better
