Hi , I am still looking for Grandma Henrietta Tooth and her mother also Henrietta Tooth on the1901 census. Her Dad William Tooth has been found at the Horseshoe Inn Waterfall Lane, Old Hill with relatives called Gadd. I am sure the whole family had returned from America but where were the 2 Henriettas? On another occasion Tooth was mistranscribed as Footh and on the 1911 census Henrietta has been recorded as a female called Henry Hetta !
I have banged my head against this brick wall many a time-help please.

Hi Farside,
Grandma Henrietta was born 09/12/1895 in Somverville, Boston , Massacussettes. William her father and Henrietta her mother lived out there for a few years and some of their children were born out there but I know William was back by 1901. William and Henrietta married 1883 and left for America on a ship called Scythia in 1889
Henrietta Bate nee Lowe was born 27/06/1861
Henrietta Tooth died 01/03/09 Highfield Road Blackeath aged 46
I have a letter from a relative to say that the family were in Wrights Lane, Old Hill after America and before Highfield Road.

for what reason are you looking for the 1901 ,1911 census for if you do have the marriage detial above and you have a birth cert ?
have you check the 1900 census in america just in case william came back first ?

Hi Peter,
Thanks -yes I have the marriage and you have found the right one. I have just entered a few dates on TP this morning including that one I think.
It is really just trying to add flesh to the bones so to speak. Dad is curious to know where his mother lived and it is strange to have found William alone and we want to know why.
I have not checked 1900 census in America. Is it possible for anyone to do this?
Would William have been kicked out during confinement for Henritta for example? or perhaps stying with sick relatives

Hi Jimmy,
seem to have lost my reply so I will redo it.
thank you so much- that is an amazing discovery and definitely the right family-everything fits in dates of birth and children. I am so pleased with this discovery-thank you so much

Yet another transcript error-Sherlock Holmes would be impressed with me tracking this lot down
This narrows down the time span for them to have returned to England. For William & maybe the others from June 1900 to census night 1901 .
I have the outbound shipping records from Liverpool to Boston and although on the same list William is recorded on a different page to Henrietta. This seems odd as you would expect them to travel and board together on such a journey. I have not been able to find any shipping lists from Boston to almost certainly Liverpool
What is the "extracted" piece above?. This is the right Henrietta as Lowe was her maiden name
I have pm'd you my e-mail
William Tooth was born 24/9/1860 Horton Street Sams Lane West Bromwich
