http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =214514095Hi. Am in sunny sardinia visiting family but interested in the Isaachar Shakespeare and Emma Smith reference as my research links me to Emma's brother, Samuel.
Looking at Jimmy's tree on BCC I think there is another daughter for Emma and Issachar. I recall that in the 1861/1871 censuses there is a reference to a niece residing with Emma's sister, Mary (Stephens); she is called alternatively Hannah Stephens and Hannah SHAKESPEARE. Also, that there is a birth of a Hannah Shakespeare in the BMD index circa 1853 (Dudley) and I think she married a Henry or Harry Plant. I also recall that In one of the censuses Hannah and Henry/Harry can be found living next door to Mary Smith and her husband Thomas Slater.
Sorry I cannt be more specific but naturally my records are in UK.
I will try to put something together about the SMITH connection with my family but that is probably better dealt with by a new 'thread'.
Ciao

I will be interested to follow this thread as it is looking likely that George Smith possibly Emma Mary and Samuel's father was also known as George Ward and George Jeptha.
if these Georges are all the same person it seems that my maternal grandparents had a common ancestors in his parents.

I have this in my notes,
St Thomas Dudley 18/9/1853.
Hezekiah Shakespeare, minor bach miner Dudley father, Thomas Shakespeare (dead) miner.
Emma Smith minor spinster Dudley father George Smith Horsenail maker.
banns.
X of Both.
Wit - Solomon Stephens signed X Mary Stephens.
NB.
Is It possible that George Jepsher-Jepha is Emma's father.
For some reason on the 1871 census for Isachar and Emma, George Jeptha, is down as grandfather, could that be grandfather to the children, or Emma.
I have never been able to find a George Smith that fits.
