New to the forum

Hello Everybody
My name is Julie and I am originally from Feltham, Middlesex, but now live in sunny Spain.
I have been researching my family tree for a couple of months now and have run into a stumbling block with my Great Grandmother and my Grandfather. Most of my family originate from the London area - mainly from the East End.
My Maternal Grandmothers side has been fairly straightforward as they all came from the same area of Kent and nobody ever seemed to move! My Maternal Grandfathers side is a different story as I believe they must all have been delivered by stork or found under the proverbial 'gooseberry bush' as there doesn't seem to be a record of any of them!
My Paternal grandparents is also a little tricky as they died in the blitz in 1940 and my Dad's recollection of that time is a little sketchy. To make the matter more difficult, his surname is Brown.
I'm hoping that someone here will be able to point me in the right direction to finding out all about my past. My Mum would love to find out more about her father as she has tried in the past and failed to unearth anything either.
