Hi
This is off another board but I am stumped so wonder if anyone can solve it :-)

William Thomson (variable spelling) appears in the Welsh census

1861 - THOMSON POB "Midley" (Dudley) and YOB 1836

1871 - THOMASON POB Dudley .. YOB 1835

1881 - THOMPSON POB Dudley ... YOB 1834

1891 - THOMPSON POB: NK, Staffordshire .. YOB 1833 (he was living with his Son George - 13, and Daughter Jane - 16)

1901 - THOMPSON POB Brynmawr .. YOB 1830

William was a collier, married in Wales, father Richard Tomson, farmer.

So can anyone find him in the 1841/51 perhaps born abt 1834ish, father Richard.
I wondered if he was from Staffordshire but near to Dudley, rather than Dudley itself?

:?:

Some of Dudley, mainly the Town was in Worcs Kate, the rest in Staffs. Then there is Netherton also in Worcs, just down the road is Cradley Heath in Staffs, it is all very confusing and all these places are so near to each other, always best to check both Counties. LInell.

I will move this to census look ups if you are after 1841 and 1851
