My youngest says I need a crane to get my butt off the couch

Just for that I am not telling her where the chocolate biscuits are
Does the jumping occur when you highlight text anywhere else?
I would just uninstall the mouse driver and restart the PC and let it reinstall it automatically.

1) Click "Start" then "Control Panel".
2) Select "Performance and Maintenance".
3) Select "System".
4) Click "Hardware" TAB.
5) Select "Device Manager".
6) Expand "Mice and other pointing devices".
7) Right click on device(s) and select "Uninstall".

Reboot the computer.
On reboot, the computer should automatically reinstall the driver(s) for the Touchpad/Mouse.
If this does not resolve the problem then
1) Click "Start" then "Control Panel".
2) Select "Printers and Other Hardware".
3) Select "Mouse"
4) Fiddle with the settings.
If it still does not work properly
1) Build Bonfire.
2) Light Bonfire.
3) Set video camera and start filming.
4) Strip naked.
5) Dance around bonfire holding computer and shout curses to Bill Gates and Microsoft.
6) Throw computer into bonfire.
7) Post video on Youtube (which might be hard if that was your only computer).

Posting this from my cell via one of the nice men in white coats,
as my hands are tied around my back in some kind of straight jacket
I still don't think they needed to call the police, fire brigade and ambulance
Think the ambulance was to help those traumatised by the very white large naked
female dancing round the out of control fire shouting expletives in a strong northern accent.
hey but at least I got some hits on you tube!
thanks mark not sure I am brave enuff to try that on my computer.

It won't hurt it.
Nothing will blow up and I promise your PC will love you for it.
