Taking my daughter to Heathrow so she can spend until Christmas volunteering at the WAGGGS centre Sangam in Pune 4 hours from Mumbai, India.

Then onto Hampton Court Palace to console myself!

Oh wow. I hope she has a great time! My son went to Ecuador as a volunteer and loved it! Hope you manage to console yourself too!

My husband has just gone off to Carlise to walk Hadrians wall so he will be busy doing that till next week!

Yeh! Party in the Park?
Got a community fun day tomorrow in Yardley Old Park...

We've got everything organised - Stalls, Morris Dancers, Elvis Presley Tribute, Irish Pipers and even 'Yardley's got Talent' plus Donkey rides, Basket Ball/Tennis/Football tournaments for the youngsters.

You watch it p*** down

We're going to have a meeting of the schadenfreude club; we set up a table on one of the bridges over the A303 and have a picnic whilst watching the traffic jams piling up beneath us. It's especially fun at the end of the holiday when all those people are going back to London and are stuck just where the road goes from dual carriageway to single.

We don't get August Bank Holiday here either, but as I'm on holiday next week I'm not bothered! We probably even out as far as the number of bank holidays go. We have more, but if they fall at a weekend (Christmas and Constitution Day) then we don't get a "replacement" one. But seeing as our wages and working conditions agreement gives us a replacement for Christmas (although not necessarily straight after) we maybe come out on top

Anyway it either rains cats and dogs or the roads are one big traffic jam, so I don't mind missing out
