Jesse Willetts (husband of Sarah Matilda Dunn) went to US and started glass factory, so this is probably right. Jesse and Sarah's two oldest sons traveled to England at least once on business.

US census is taken every 10 years on the 1880, 1890, etc, but the 1890 census was lost to a fire so it makes that 20 year block very hard to research.

I know i hadn't had any caffeine at 6am this morning, but i thought i saw a post saying that rf had verified the batisim or marriage for Mary Ann Dunn, possibly sister of Jesse, and it said John Dunn, gardener, like Jesse's marriage cert?

I thought the post also said Mary Ann married a Taylor, but can't find the post now...

Ok, here is a proposed possibility:

John Dunn, b. abt 1 Apr 1770, brother of Thomas, parents Joseph & Eliz
marries Lydia Taylor (previous married name? Then maiden?), if maiden, then b. abt 1771 per data, d.24 May 1827
Married: 5 May 1816
Witnesses to marriage Samuel Dunn, Thomas Walker
Both John and Lydia previously married? John remarries after 1827?
John (Jesse) Dunn, christened 2 Mar 1817, marriage cert lists John Dunn as gardener and Jesse living in Brierly Hill
Mary Ann Dunn, christened 2 May 1819

Is ther an estate in Brierly Hill when John might have gardened? If so woul they have papers preserved?

I dont think the Lydia bit is the correct mother
and on Bapt for that John and Mary Ann fathers occup didnt gel.

His parents per the trees: Francis Downing and Sarah, but didn't see any documented evidence.
James died on 29 Dec 1934 in PA

found that on the 1871 census but following through no brother joseph born 1875 ?

take ancestry trees as a guide only weve found all sorts of faults with them people will stick owt in that fits so it looks good
