came across this guy about 8 or 9 years ago got his cd the Answer in blackpool.
could find a recording of him doing del shannon the answer to everything but this is just as good

Lucky kids! My mum hardly ever listened to music, and my dad's taste in music is a little questionable!
It was either classical (okay, but our tastes in classical aren't very similar), folk music (good for a sing a long), or the worst jazz! (not the popular stuff, but the old dreary stuff, King Oliver, Dodds, Louis Armstrong before anyone knew who he was!)
He used to play the clarinet as a young man and was in a jazz group called the Artisian Hall Stompers (I think), some of them apparently went on to greater things, but when Dad was a member they were very amature.
I remember going past a junk shop once with my parents, and there was a clarinet in the window - Mum said if he bourght it that'd be grounds for divorce
Despite being born on exactly the same day as John Lennon, my Dad didn't like "popular" music at all.
