Thanks for the links jimmy - really love Atlantis by the Shads. When you saw them in round about 1963 was it by any chance at the Gaumont Wolverhampton? Me and two of my mates bunked off school to queue up early to get tickets, telling our mates who went off to school not to say anything - did we get it in the neck when we got back to school in the afternoon. It was so worth it though. It's a wonderful feeling when you've been mad on a singer and finally get to see them live for the first time.

My hubby bought me the new CD of Cliff and the Shads for my birthday, but a little disappointed that there are no Shadows music.

I saw them twice in about 2 years in Cheltenham, I can't remember the venue.

While i was watching Cliff ( sorry) Sir Cliff and The Shads i thought wouldn't it have been great to see Jet Harris on bass guitar.
Then the day after an acquaintance told me Jet had been ill with cancer but his wife had told him he was responding well to chemo and things are looking good.
So this is for Jet and get well soon!!

We thought the same Rob about Jet, but then you get to thinking, well he wasn't with them really for that long. Then we started naming all the bass guitarists the Shads have had. Amazing what you can find on google about all these "stars" besides being musicians in a group.

  Just realised John Farrar wasn't a base guitarist. Well I'd eat my bloomin' 'at if I had one. I humbly apologise Sir Rob.
