Maria Mucklow seems to be a Maria Jones.
Her mother is probably a Mary Jones
there is a bapt in 1838 for Maria Jones mother Mary Jones. Halesowen.
On the 1851 she is with a Job Jones widow....but his wife was a Sarah Yates
On the 1841 she is still with them and Sarah (Yates is there)
No Mary mother around.

Stumped!

Alec black country topics census, Pr, Etc are normallty done within the topic in the black country section as we would be continously running two to three topic in two to three section which is pointless as no one would no where they were at

dumping all the josephs you can find in the 1851 Halesowen might not be the best way to solve the problem might only confuse it, my i ask what was your reasoning behind this ? as he might not be on the census ?

Thanks for all the input but the overload of names and addresses just confuses the hunt for Meshach Hackett even more. He was born about 1842 in Old Hill with a father Benjamin born Abt. 1820. The Joseph Hackett search was just an idea of finding Meshach by the back door. Need to find Meshach or his father in 1841 or 1851. linell.

Well this has been a great thread the way it weaves in and out....
And so much has come out of it...and the great thing is that we can now add to that Charles Hackett and Mary Jones that FS flagged!

So I am starting a new topic for them and will add to the tree.

I found Mary Brookes(nee Jones) wife of Joseph Hackett in 1851 widow and no Meshach with her
So I think we can conclude that although he may have some r'ship to Joseph Hackett he is not their kid.

I think we need to chase the Benjamins, nailers, in that area in 1851 as on the marriage cert I dont think he is down as deceased.

Is there a way too of finding all the Hackett males b abt 1842/43 in that area on the Census?
See if one could fit?

:?

Well.. what I could do is slowly work through the Hackett males b abt 1842/43, add them to BCC.. if you like, give an update periodically.. it's the only thing I can think of..

Thanks FS but I am not sure that won't be a waste of your time as he might be Meshach and then another surname.
His father might be Benjamin Hackett but he could be Meshach Jones or Yates or anything!

I think his name must be meshach it features all down the census and his kid is called it.

So what about matching up all the kids called Meshach in 1851 or have we looked at that.
See who they are with...not necessarily a Benjamin Hackett.

ps does he on the census always put born RRegis?
and is his dob consistent on the census so b 1842/43?

To be honest whatever anyone thinks on this..It has me stumped!
