What other reason could there be?

Mind you, it don't say much for the writer if he didn't realise when he removed the dead bulb that it was an ES fitting and that it might be an idea for the replacement bulb to also be an ES one, I bet a female writer wouldn't have made that mistake, maybe he needs to be sacked and replaced by someone who can do the job better - a female someone.
