Oh I see, your saying Ellen and Helen. Ok, but the DOB is almost a decade out.

Wright Betsy. Stourbridge. 6c. 183.

How many Ellens / Helens from Kidderminster married a Toy - Toye - Tay, this census says married 31 years. Which fits with the above marriage.

Can someone post the link for Stourbridge registration district so the marriage cert can be ordered.

Ok, back on the research trail again and need to get up to speed with Ellen Walford again as I am getting conflicting info from other people outside of this forum.

My problem is establishing the correct Ellen Walford. I have BMD record for her born in 1853 - but these census reports give me a different DOB.

1861 - 1857
1871 - 1857
1881 - 1858
1891 - 1960
1901 - 1852

Sorry if I'm going over old ground here, but in context I'm not following the threads.

I've just discovered a Probate record which says the following:

Toy Edwin - of 48 Lower Vauxhall Wolverhampton died 12th February 1933. Probate Birmingham 29 March to Ellen Toy spinster and Frederick Seymour Toy clerk. Effects £678 18s 7d.

Not sure what to make of that, it's definitely got me thinking again - but probably creating scenarios in my head that don't exist.

Well yes that is who I suspect is my ancestor, but there has been some confusion as to what happened post 1891.

When a thread gets long/old it is sometimes better to pick on piece of information and follow that through on a new thread with a specific aim.
Starting with the information you have that is relevant to that point
