Yes Jo I used braising steak , I cut any fat off because I don't like fat and it was really nice , would think it will be even better with beer. :grin:

will be very complicated to do but I will do it
I have a flair for opening a packet!

What garden herbs, Rob? And so just beer for gravy, is there any stock or other water needed? I know you said add water if it gets dry.
I've got John Smiths Bitter, hope thats ok :?

well I made it. To be honest, I dont think I would do it again, unless i played about with it.
It may be what I used, the bitter and cooked it in a slow cooker. :?:
Garden herbs? I used dried mixed herbs.
So cant give a true picture :roll:

I'm cooking Robs Braised Steak tomorrow :grin: In fact it's almost the same method that I normally use, so gonna vary it a little by adding the beer.

Well I cooked it today and it went down really well!
I added a large can of original Guiness (thats all they had in our corner shop) and cos I was worried it wouldn't have enough flavour, 1 oxo cube :? but no water at all and no vinegar

Very rich and tasty, we thought :grin:

Well you seemed to all enjoy Robs Stew
I enjoyed my smoked salmon...very difficult to prepare though...those packets are tough to open

Pears in red wine went down well for those that did it

well we have christmas looming so we can give the recipe revival a break
and perhaps in the new year do something else
