mmmm...I could be clutching at straws here but i've found a marriage of a Richard Raybould to Elizabeth Shakespear at Kingswinford on the 28th May 1792. I wonder if these are Richard's (1801c) parents?

Its certainly the most likely option that has been found I think, it certainly fits what info I have...now if only that baptism would appear of Richard Jnr
Glad you've claimed Edward & Esther.

Dear all,
Regarding the Richard and Mary Raybould who lived at Overend in Cradley, and have Aston (Birmingham) connections, namely Mary was born there, and so were the first three children. Mary is not Mary Stevens as some of you think but Mary LISSIMORE, baptised on 27 November 1808 at St. John's Church, Deritend and Bordesley. The birth certificate of their son Edward (8th December 1847 at Overend, Cradley) names his mother as Mary Raybould formerly Lissimore. Also, when Richard married Mary Lissmore 09 Sep 1827 at Aston Juxta, Birmingham he was named as Richard Rabone, not a name he used again as far as I know, but there are other crossovers between Rabones and Rayboulds. Cor they tell what we'm sayin?
Also, I have read one entry on the Forum that says that Richard died before the 1851 census. This is not the case, or there is life after death after all. Richard was not at home on the day and Mary was enumerated as a widow, but he was back with the family in the 1861 census. Their son David is also absent from the household in 1851, perhaps away with his father, and there in 1861.
I have not found either Richard or mary in later censuses. Has anyone else?

Hi Nigel, that's fantastic thankyou, I was going to email you regarding this family, mind reader

I re-checked Richard and Mary from Cradley, and yes they are in the Vicar's Notebook of 1857 and on the 1861 Census still in Overend. Think they died after 1861. You've filled a few gaps for us here, many thanks, and keep in touch, we will need your expertise again before long, of that I am sure.............Linell.
