That's very interesting - that Naboth was using Sidaway as his surname by 1871.

Anyone got any idea which church records one would have to search (or any other way of finding out) to see if the M did stand for Martha in the 1851 Samuel Priest census? St Giles again?

so M is prob Martha in 1851 family in Bromsgrove area
Samuel is a farmer but then in 1861 switches to forge labourer now in RR

Odd though, if the family from Bromsgrove is the correct one, that having been presumably a Priest, she calls herself Sidaway on marriage. Would be good to find her in 1861.

I wonder if they are Priest on census but in church or registration on births or marriages use the Sidaway one.
