Re: james Hackett 1768
My last post this thread, my argument was flawed, I got the Marys mixed up, one was the dau of James & Ann and the other was the dau of Josiah & Sarah. I thought I had cracked it but alas I hadn't!

Re James Hackett and Wife Hannah
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =435419483
we can link sibs because of following
-Maria marries for 2nd time and wit is Rosannah Tromans dau of Marias sister Selina
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =560384186
-Selina linked to Maria as on Marias notes
-Benjamin bro to Selina linked as Selinas dau Harriet Jeavons with Benjamin on census
So 3 are linked bapts are good too.
Now we have Josiah Hackett born 1811 who it seems has 3 kids who are with Benjamin on 1871 as nephews
if they are kids of Josiah
not sure on the Levi one it does say Levi on image should it say Elihu ...age is out then on 1871

1861 Census Gosty Hill Rowley Regis
Josiah Hackett 50 Nail Maker
Elizabeth Hackett Wife 40 Nail Maker b. Dudley Worcs.
Olive Hackett dau 18 Nail Maker
Benjamin Hackett son 15 Nail Maker
James Hackett son 13 Nail Maker
Jeshuren Hackett son 9
Thomas, son, 7
Elihu Hackett son 5
Moses Hackett son 1
Hannah Hadley step dau 19 Nail Maker
Joseph Hadley step son 16 Nail Maker
William, grand son, 5 months
Rest born Rowley Regis
1871. Lawrence Lane.
Benjamen Hacket 64. Widow.nailer b Rowley Regis
Jesse Hacket 19. Nephew. unmarried b Rowley Regis
Thomas Hacket 16. Nephew.unm b Rowley Regis
Levi Hacket 13. Nephew. unm b Rowley Regis
John Mallen 24. Boarder. Stocktaker in Iron works, Tipton, Staffs
Harriet Hacket 22. Boarder. unm b Rowley Regis
Joseph Mallen 2. Grandson.
so the above would seem to link Josiah b 1811 to Benjamin who we in turn can link to Maria and Selina
but what concerns me
is ...
Why was SElina bapt in 1811 but bro Josiah b 1811 wasnt bapt with her?
If the above all is ok then Josiah b 1790 must be from another family
If anyone can crack this they will be mega stars in genealogy!
any more of these up your sleeve CS!

Re: james Hackett 1768
I had a look at this last night -
Just run over the obvious:
Josiah Hackett bpt Rowley Regis 1790, parents James and Hannah
Josiah Hackett bpt Halesowen 1837, said to be born 1811, parents James and Hannah
Both appear in the census, married and with families.
1790 Josiah is at the moment on BCC as first child of James and Hannah, and Josiah 1811 comes in at the tale end, about the same time as his ?sister Selina bpt in 1811 at Rowley Regis.
So, the question is are the Josiah's brothers or not?
1. Did the 1790 Josiah die so the name was recycled? The proposed burial in 1791 could be him, but as pointed out it does not state that it was an infant being buried.
2. There certainly is a 1790 Josiah in the census so if this one died then we need to find another - there is a possible bpt 1789 at Halesowen, mother Martha.
3. Another possibility is that 1790 Josiah is the son of James and Hannah Hackett who had children at Rowley Regis ?1773-1785. Slightly overlapping families?
4. 1790 Josiah would have been an adult by the time the other one was born. It is not unheard of for a name to be reused when the first child had perhaps left home.
Are there any other possibilities?
