JOSEPH PRIEST Birth: 04 AUG 1828
Christening: 28 SEP 1828 Park Lane Presbyterian, Cradley, Worcester,
Father: JOSEPH PRIEST
Mother: ELIZA

Must have been a brother, the Congregation would only have been about 100 or so in 1827 at Park Lane, I wouldn't think there were two Joseph and Eliza's having children baptised at the same time In 1841 Wm Henry is 12 and Joseph is 11, must be correct, surely

I think we are all making hard work on this family, should be straight forward really What do you think JO

I have connected up Eliza based on mother living next door but one on 1851

but that bapt must be a late one
or it isnt that Eliza Shaw that marries Joseph

she very definately is Eliza on marriage and on census

Hi can someone please post Joseph Priest and Eliza for any later years, need to see what Eliza puts as her place of birth and who any neighbours are. Many thanks from Linell.

Anne Shaw 30.12.1810
Eliza Shaw 6.6.1813
Francis Shaw 24.12.1815

Plus John at Park Lane Presbyterian Chapel Cradley
John Shaw 10.6.1821

All children of John and Maria

Yes thanks Jan, think I have that, will check. Regarding Elizabeth/Eliza I am not sure which one marries Joseph Priest, will have a look through some burials. Many thanks from Lin.

Please note both Elizabeth and Eliza were baptised at Brierley Hill, don't know where the born B'ham comes from :?:

have deleted the place of birth for eliza

I do think she is from that family
and I feel she is the one bapt 1813 but it must have been a later bapt

Just found this in my notes:-

Eliza's baptism says, 'Daughter of John and Maria Shaw , Cradley, Nailer.' Year 1813

Anne Shaw 1810 - 1813 Anne's burial says, 'Anne daughter of John and Maria Shaw, The Bower, 3 years.'

Francis's baptism says, 'Son of John and Maria Shaw, Cradley Forge, Nailer.' Year 1815

Sorry didn't realise I had these notes until I looked. :oops:

So Eliza's Bap doesn't say anything about her being born at a different time :!:

Will keep looking.

No burials for an Elizabeth Shaw or an Eliza Shaw at Cradley. Have to presume they both Married :?:

I must have searched the Brierley Hill burials at some point, that is where I found the one for Ann Shaw 1813. If anyone has the BH Registers, could they have a quick look to see if either Elizabeth or Eliza Shaw died before the age of 17 when they may have Married, cheers from Lin.

I have added the marriage for Joseph here

I have disconnected him from Joseph and Elizabeth with kids Jane and Phoebe Priest
we have no evidence he connects there.

I am not sure if Eliza is Elizabeth
she is Eliza on census marriage and death
so have added a note

not sure we can do any more on this one now

if we want to run with Mary Stringer and father Thomas pls open new thread

going to flag to archive this one now
