omg I have received some interesting information from an Auntie in Scotland. She has copies of the damaged birth cert for John Firth Taylor. Unfortunately it is pretty much unreadable....
However she also has a marriage cert that I was going to try and get hold of... Thanks for the pointers in the right direction...
The marriage cert details the following about JFT
Date : 12 June 1937
Name & Surname : John Firth Taylor
Age : 33
Condition : Batchelor
Rank & Profession : Pa???ls (Corporation)
Residence at time of marriage : 52 John St, Pendleton
Fathers Name & Surname : John William Taylor
Rank & Profession of Father : Labourer (Canal Company)
I am now starting to dig in the right direction. I will let you know how I get on...
