12 September 1824 Benjamin so Joseph and Rebecca Basterfield, Borough, Bricklayer
Hi Jan, yes above is the Bap for the younger Benjamin, son of Joseph and Rebecca then there is this one:-
10 Mar 1822
Benjamin so Joseph and Mary Bastable, Borough, Mason GS
Then one of them dies, and presumably the other one Married Elizabeth Cooksey
Burial
24 Oct 1824, Benjamin Bastable, Borough, Infant Gs
Will have another look at it. Linell.

Can someone please check the 1841 Census for Benjamin Bastable or Basterfield born about 1823 Halesowen, we have the one in Islington with parents Joseph and Mary, need to check whether there are anymore or not, thanks.
The Parish entries have Benjamin son of Joseph and Mary Boro Mason 10.3.1822
Benjamin son of Joseph and Rebecca Boro Bricklayer 12.9.1824
Burial is for Benjamin Bastable Inf Boro 24.10.1824. I think this must be the son of Joseph and Rebecca and the other Benj is the one who Married Elizabeth Cooksey.

There again
IF you look at Benjamin and Elizabeth's children, there is no Joseph or any of his family names from Islington
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/fa ... sey-FamilyHelp................are any of the parents or siblings living with Benjamin later on

I think, cannot check as I do not have Ancestry, that Charles is Benjamin's Grandson, son of James Basterfield born 1848 and Elizabeth, if I am correct that won't tell us who Benj mother is will it
I give up, Linell.

Hi Kaye, yes Charles could be James's son, Benjamin's Grandson. I think the only way of sorting this out is by Benjamin's age, one of them was 2 years older than the other Benjamin, I know it's not a great way of doing it, but can't think of anything else! Linell.

any clues thoughts as to which one it is
From the Census records, it looks like Benjamin was born 1824 not 1822, does anyone else think the same

trouble is that death in 1900 for Benjamin that marries Elizabeth is coming out at ab 1824
which fits the 1824 one bapt to Joseph and Rebecca
But we know a Benjamin aged 20 is with Joseph and Mary on 1841
but there Benjamin is bapt 1822
I give up now...

we dont know which Benjamin married Elizabeth do we

Hi Jan, from what you say above and the age of Benj in the Census, it does look like he could be the son of Joseph and Rebecca, is he on the 1841 Census? Otherwise it must be the other Benj who was alive and well in 1841.
