If this is Phillis Siveter, then Comfort is Edwards sister in law, not niece.

Perhaps given the age difference he felt he had been introduced as "Uncle" and it stuck -- I know I had a great number of "Aunty"s and "Uncle"s when I was younger -- it was used to offer respect for age to those who were more than an acquaintance ie Mr/Mrs even when there was no blood realtionship at all.

I do agree with that MG
I think that is our Phyllis

the church may be Quinton?

I better get the certif

so if I send for the Edward Tromans one and father for Phyllis is not Wm
we know that the other Phyllis married to reuben has parents Wm and eliz
which I think looks good too!

The records for Christ Church in Quinton (Stourbridge Reg Office) are held in Birmingham Archives - if anyone is going.

Val you need to adjust your records

the 1861 marriage is father Mathew siviter for Phillis bowater

the one married in 1863 I think is the William and Elizabeth one
which I think fits with ages etc

I have the marriage certif now on this
wits are Jonah Knowles and Phebe Knowles ...phebe is sis to edward tromans
