Not sure a birth cert will help as its the same problem as my initial post.
There are 2 charles higgs born around the same time in the same area so how will I know which is which?

Close your eye's pick one.. sometimes it's the only way, one time I inadvertently ordered the same 3 certs twice, you only do that once..

Not been following this
but if you order online at the GRO you can say that you only want it if father or mother is such and such
but if you then have ordered the certif and when they look at it the mother or father is not such and such they take some of the money from you
not sure how much from the 9.25
so you are best I think if you have doubts
to contact the local registry office and ask them if they have a such and such
and give the details you have
ie mothers name
fathers name
occup
age of ancestor area etc
they then usually are very helpful and will let you know if they have one matching it
that way you dont waste any money
