Re: Mysterious Mary...BC Wench adding
Not sure what can be added except a note to say that the letter is among documents inherited from Nathan Taylor but may not be related to Taylor family history and was written by a MARY l Fletcher or words to that effect.

Mally can you put a link to that letter on Marys notes if you a min
I not got time at mo.
Link it to the letter in your gallery and if Bc wench's transcribed bit could go in notes on mary too that would be great.
Add too if you can this
"Mary writes the letter on link and it somehow ends up in Nathan Taylors posession.
We are unsure how he came to have it"

I'm really confused now. Is this any connection to the people in this thread?

Re: Mysterious Mary...BC Wench adding
Anyhow, for what its worth, I think that Nathan was just a handy neighbour who was known for being literate and helped out writing letters. So the letter is a copy of a letter that was signed and sent.
I reckon that Samuel hopped off (possibly across the Atlantic) and found himself a new partner.
I don't think that he has been found in the census post his marriage. His daughter names him as a farmer when she marries, and his brother is mostly listed as a farmer, so I am not buying him turning up in any metal industry.

Re: Mysterious Mary...BC Wench adding
Sounds fine putting in a hyperlink. I still can't think of any connection - Nathan worked on a couple of farms near Bromsgrove in the 1850ies but neither were owned by a Fletcher and there's no mention of a Fletcher at any of the other positions he had in a variety of jobs.
