ahhh yes.. William Thomas (his war diary is on ancestry too btw... Im gonna try.. n decipher that lot too soon lol)

And ty.. I had never heard the term keeper.. associated w the blast furnace till just... which is why seeing boatman, and then keeper, My thoughts went to it being a lock keeper or something.. I didnt think of a blast furnace having a keeper

I knew they had the locos etc.. one of johns sons (I think it was Johns) is a loco or and engine driver

So now I have My Selina!!!

and looks like we have about all we're gonna get now for Johns dad william tho?

Looks like his mother is that Elizabeth Smith ....related to Hannah Smith sister in law?
I have put a hyperlink on to the Dunns and Hannah Smith
but is that Wm with Wm Smith and Elizabeth Smith in 1841?

think in 1841 numerator botched the ages as he altered the other two ?

Yup looks like it could be the end of my 'Smith' line :-(

(Although....from another of my tree lines, my brazier....family line, i have another 'Smith' problem name that i might put a thread up for but she came from Kent originally, is this forum just for black country tho? (She lived, died etc in wolvo....)
