Hi guys have done the look up and just doing the 2nd batch from last week now.....
so if anyone can help add anything on anything relevant that I bring back and we chase would really appreciate it just dive in!
Ok the marriage for this Joshua was very interesting on both the Taylor and Moreton front....
On the Moreton front the father was Thomas which wasnt true unless he didnt die in 1836!!
so some porkies on that marriage cert!
Moving on to Joshua father is John and I think it is the one above
I believe he was bapt on same day as his future wife eve!
have added details
here
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =789162837so who are his parents
can we find a marriage for John Taylor and a Mary ?
I wonder if this John and Phillis are connected in some way
both b abt same time

This lot are a real pain
I think I have come up with a fariy story...mean a scenario
On the 1841 census this John Taylor and Mary (down as May) are at the village RR with other kids but no Joshua
I dont think that Joshua is Marys
I think it is Phyllis Taylors
They adopt him....... in 1845 bapt record he is age 6 and yet not on 1841 census
I think that he is the son of John Taylor and Phillis
that is why she is with him throughout the census

Have only just read all this as have been on holiday. The Moreton's in question are my family, and there is indeed some question over the father of the youngest 3 children of Elizabeth, one researcher suggests that the father of Eve was George Smith the Dudley hangman, although I have no proof of this. They were baptised without a fathers name and Elizabeth b 1839 has no fathers name on her birth cert, so there was obviously something not quite right. I have Eve's marriage cert to Joshua Taylor, son of John, they were both minors when they married 18 Dec 1859, and she gives her fathers name as Thomas Moreton, dead. Hope this helps, I think I have put all this on BCC,
Margaret

Hi Margaret the marriage wasn't on with the info so I have added that.
Do you happen to have Joshuas birth info?

Hi, Sorry I don't have Joshua's birth info, only that he was a minor when married and his father was John.

not sure if you already have this Thomas Moreton who died 2/10/1836 age 36 was living at Finger-i-Hole at time of death
only mention this because one of the census on this thread was from Finger?hole!!!
Also I put Eve's mother on tribal as Elizabeth Morton because I thought she was unmarried at time of Eve's baptism. This may need to be changed to Unknown.
