Well just about everyone I know thinks I am sad for doing this and people tell me to my face I am, so I don't really speak about it to anyone, but I will of course tell you.
Basically it is for the Sussex Online Parish Clerks project.
http://www.sussex-opc.org/Although I don't live in Sussex, I am stone throws away geography wise, and most of my relatives have lived and were born in Sussex, so I am already familiar with names etc associated with Sussex. The Hampshire Parish Clerk project seems non-existant, I was looking for something productive to kill a few hours with.
In past used to go and do things on zooniverse, but there was no real personal reward for any of those projects, so decided to volunteer and was given task of transcribing 1841 census data. I also get a credit for my work and from a personal motive, its something extra I can put on my CV, transcription and data input work.

Yes it all helps, even more so as we can officially state our census data is more accurate than Ancestry

Sounds good, but could we compete with the outsourcing to India? I assume speed and cost is better than accuracy.
