really you could do with contacting Sandwell register office and saying father is a Joseph Cartwright do they have one that matches

Yes was thinking of getting that wolverhampton one as Hubby says Willenhall was probably covered by W'Ton, is it the registry office I apply to or the archives as I might as well go pay a visit.

Hi it is the Wolverhampton registry office
not sure if you have to order then collect it not sure if they will give it to you
if you just turn up...you would need to phone them.
I think they accept payment over phone but again check.
If you in Wolves drop in for cuppa! and share the info dying to crack this one.

Just been having a look to see if I can see anything re a bapt on my indexes and I can't see anything
nor that 1908 marriage to hopefully a lizzie Benton...might not even be correct marriage need mothers maiden name
then we can look again.

ps if we knew the church for marriage it can be looked up at archives free and would save a tenner
but we dont know church for the 1908 one

Have looked for the marriage and she was married to Samuel Benton in 1905 he died in 1907 and she married Joseph in 1908. The name Mc Nally is sometimes varied

I think it was an Elizabeth Oliver we thought had married a John Benton before she married Joseph, as Naomi Alma Oliver was a witness at Glady's and Cecil's (my grandparents) marriage. Sorry dont mean to confuse the issue or you.

cant remember but Elizabeth Oliver marries Wm Lewis then an Albert Llowarch
