I have already discounted this Martha Priest, I think she married Joshua Beal in 1869.
Odd though, if the family from Bromsgrove is the correct one, that having been presumably a Priest, she calls herself Sidaway on marriage. Would be good to find her in 1861.

Do you think, maybe I should let everyone get back to whatever else they should be doing, and just buy the birth certificate?! I think it's going to be hard to prove it one way or another.

There is no other Martha Priest in 1861 that fits.

There is a Martha Priest (the one I think married Joshua Beal) in Mar 1848 - Dudley 18/ 261 Parents were Solomon and Martha.
